Comprehensive Care, From Prevention to Treatment

Our program delivers a full continuum of evidence-based services designed to prevent new HIV infections, connect diagnosed individuals to care, and support the health and dignity of every person we serve.

HIV Testing & Counseling

Free, confidential rapid HIV testing with pre- and post-test counseling. Results in 20 minutes. Walk-ins accepted — no appointment necessary.

Care Coordination

Dedicated case managers help connect you to medical providers, prescription assistance, transportation, housing support, and all services needed for comprehensive HIV care.

PrEP Navigation

Information and assistance accessing Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) — a daily pill that reduces the risk of HIV by over 99%. We help with eligibility, enrollment, and medication costs.

Community Outreach

We bring testing and education directly to communities through events, pop-up clinics, and partnerships with local organizations serving at-risk populations.

PEP Access

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is an emergency medication that can prevent HIV after potential exposure. It must be started within 72 hours — we help you get it fast.

Education & Training

Free HIV prevention education for community groups, schools, and healthcare providers. We also offer cultural competency training and stigma-reduction workshops.

About Our Program

Dedicated to Ending the HIV Epidemic in Santa Clara County

The HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program is a division of the Santa Clara County Department of Health. We work across clinical settings, community organizations, and public health infrastructure to reduce new HIV infections and improve outcomes for those living with HIV.

Our approach is grounded in science, driven by equity, and centered on the people we serve. We partner with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and public health agencies to ensure that prevention tools, testing, and treatment reach everyone who needs them — especially the populations most affected.
